Do not be general or vague.
I usually spend my morings making the 32 mile drive through the rainforest to a little town called Keanae, Maui. I have to be there by 6:30 am to start baking banana bread which has become quite popular amongst locals and visitors. Sitting on the east end of the island, the horizon over the Keanae peninsula is basically a blank canvas and the sun along with the distinct glare of the vast open ocean surrounding it paints a beautiful plethora of colors across the entire scene. I almost always stop and snap a picture from a certain point along the valley roads that lead to the town. My kinetic sculpture would fill an entire room and be a mixed media project to say the least. The back wall would have a painting spanning the entire length of the wall. The outline of the Keanae Peninsula would be in the distance with the sea level meeting it. The sea and bottom half of the room would be a variety of blues to show water. The sky would be a white and very light yellow. The alluminum pieces hanging would represent the glare of the water you see in front of Keanae. A spot light with a deep shine of warm yellows and oranges would move from the back wall and make its way across the roof of the ceiling until it reached the other side of the room. As if the sun rose from the east and made its way to the west. While it makes its journey across the room the reflections will bouce in a variety of directions all over the wall. The blue pain would cause the reflections that fall upon it to change the appearance of the color on the wall so those would imitate the glare of the water as well. The brilliant yellows and oranges would fall upon the dead white space and show the vibrance of a sunrise over Keanae. The sculpture would take up an entire room in my house in Keanae. I feel like it always amazes me personally when I see it, so I would love to be able to share it with those who know me well and live in Keanae and those who share the same spiritual feeling when they see it, because they would have the most amazing appreciation for my work. Of course, it would be open for YOU to come and view as well.
